The vast majority of email marketers are optimists. They hear about what works for other people and they try to apply it to their marketing strategy. Then, they simply hope it works. But these people are not successful email marketers and after seeing that other people’s strategy doesn’t necessarily work for them, they give up on email marketing completely.
In this article I am going to teach about why tracking your email marketing victories and its shortcomings is crucial for you to ultimately become a successful email marketer and confidently make money by working from home.
In our previous ARTICLE, we talked about what metrics all email marketers should know. However, knowing them doesn’t mean anything if you cannot apply the knowledge to your own email marketing strategy.
The first reason why you absolutely must track how your email campaigns are working, is the ability to find out which strategies work for you, and which don’t. Perhaps in your initial squeeze page you’ve decided to mostly include text. Promoting this squeeze page and sending it out to potential leads without any tracking won’t allow you to fully understand if it is effective and brings the results you are hoping for.
However, when you do start tracking them, you will be able to know how key metrics like Open rate, Click-through rate, Conversion rate, Overall ROI apply to your email. After seeing these numbers, you will be able to see whether your email campaign was successful or not. If it was – great! However, the odds are slim for your very first campaigns to be successful.
Therefore, when tracking said metrics, you will be able to know that you must change something in your campaign. You may try to upload a video in your campaign, offer an ebook, include social proof and see how the metrics react to these and any other changes you make.
This way, through testing various marketing strategies and tracking how they do, eventually you will perfect your squeeze page, your thank you page, website, blog or any other form of email marketing you are utilizing.
The other key reason you must track how your strategies are performing is selling your Solo Ads to other people. When selling your Solo Ad services, buyers will want to know what they are investing their money to.
They will ask what Open rate, Click-through rate, Conversion rate, Forwarding rate and other metrics are specific to your email campaigns. If you don’t know these metrics, people won’t be compelled to buy Solo Ads from you and will look elsewhere.
There you go, hopefully now you understand why tracking your email marketing success and shortcomings is crucial. In our next ARTICLE, I will teach you how exactly you can do that.
