Email Marketing Guide Part 5: Autoresponder

Email Marketing Guide Part 5: Autoresponder

Welcome back to the complete guide to email marketing. In our previous posts, we talked about what a squeeze page and what benefits it brings, as well as how to create your own squeeze page and email list. In this blog we will discuss what an autoresponder is. We will also discuss why it is important and how to set it up by yourself.

An autoresponder is a computer program that automatically answers e-mail sent to it. It sends an email message automatically after a contact subscribes to your list. Autoresponders are used to thank people for subscribing and sending them additional information (following-up) regarding the goods or services you are advertising.

Autoresponders are extremely helpful with establishing long-term relationships with your subscribers. This is achieved by sending them automated email on particularly set days. Not having an autoresponder would make you have to choose when to send emails to your subscribers manually every time, which would be ineffective, as well as a waste of time. Your autoresponder will make sure you never forget to send a promotion!

Now that we’ve established what autoresponders are and why they are important, let’s jump straight to setting up your own autoresponder. I have tried a bunch of autoresponders, but I strongly recommend using the GetResponse Autoresponder, which is the website we are also using for creating our email list. Not only does this website offer an effectively working autoresponder, it will also provides you with a suite of email marketing tools that will help you maximize the amount of subscribers you gather. It offers a free 30 day trial too.

To be more specific, this autoresponder helps setting up the email list, creating a welcome message to greet your subscribers and set their expectations, create further emails based on your goals and track the effectiveness of your squeeze page. And of course, promote to your list to make money online!

Basically, if you’ve read our two previous blogs, you have already done most of the work – you’ve created your email list, your squeeze page and linked them together so that email addresses of your subscribers are added to your email list.

Now what you want to do is go your email list by clicking ‘Contacts’ in the GetResponse website. From there, go to the three bullets next to your email list and press ‘Show Autoresponders’. Next, we will be able to create our first autoresponder by clicking ‘Create Autoresponder’.

From there, you can name your autoresponder, link it to your email list, select when you want the autoresponder to send emails to your list of subscribers and choose the content of said emails. So for example you can ask the autoresponder to send an email to your list every day, every other day or only on selected days of the week.

In our next blog, we will talk about how to make money online using Solo Ads now that you have created your email list, squeeze page and autoresponder. You can find this blog HERE.
