Easy Ways to Make Money Online

As we approach the second decade of the 21st century, being your own boss and making a lucrative income from home is becoming more mainstream. Though it may sound like a simple feat in theory: create a website, write some articles, throw up a couple of ads and sit back and watch the money flow in. Making an income worthy of leaving your 9-5 and working from home is so much easier said than done. It can be tough, but it is definitely possible.

There are several streams of income you can build on when the goal is to become your own boss and work from home. Streams such as blogging or building a website, incorporating Google AdSense into said website, utilizing lead sales, freelance writing, and last but definitely not least, affiliate marketing. There are hundreds of thousands bloggers out there that can advocate for any or all of these methods. It’s all a matter of how much time and dedication you are willing to put into making this work for you.

Freelance Writing:

Freelance writing is an age-old trade. Although, fairly new to the Internet over the past few decades. Freelance writers are authors who work on their own time, usually from the comfort of their home. They could be working under contract with a company or magazine service, so their time might be a bit less flexible, but at the same time under their own control. As long as the job is done when it’s due, there’s no need to wake up at the crack of dawn to get to a job site and clock in at a particular time.

Freelance writing jobs can be incredibly lucrative, but just like any small business, it needs to grow and gather credibility. Freelance writers sometimes start out making obnoxiously small amounts of money per article. Maybe $5-$10, but over time can grow that income to a whopping $100-$500 per article. With freelance writing, one could easily make $200 a day and still not need to set an alarm clock to wake up to every morning.

Blogging:

Blogging isn’t exactly a new concept. “Web-logging” as the name was derived from, blogging came about not too long after the Internet came into existence. Folks would use the Internet to publish their own thoughts and knowledge on particular subjects of interest. Or in some cases as a diary of sorts. As the Internet and the number of its users continue to grow it was discovered that money could be made off of these “online diaries”. They could be teaching an audience to do a particular thing, providing a service or selling products.

In the past, blogs used to only be in written form. However, today there are more ways of getting your point across. One of those ways is podcasting. Podcasting, in a sense, is much like verbal or auditory blogging. It carries the same concept as having a written blog. That, being to convey knowledge, talk about a particular interest, or even just story telling. That being said, podcasts can bring in revenue in a similar manner as written blogs.

There are multiple ways to monetize your blogs. One of them is asking potential readers to pay for reading. However, this way is a bit old fashioned and outdated, as the multitude of information online can be acquired for free. It is, however, still possible to make money using this method, but the information you provide must be exceptional. It must be something you can’t find elsewhere free of charge. The more modern and effective methods of monetizing your blogs include incorporating AdSense into your blog webpage or using affiliate marketing. These methods are discussed below.

AdSense:

Born in 2003, Google AdSense was a content targeting and advertising program launched by Google. It uses a person’s search history to strategically place advertisements of products that the user may have some potential interest in. AdSense is a pay per click program, which is exactly what it sounds like.

Once you sign up for and are approved for an AdSense account you can simply add their coding into the background of your website and voila! Their program will systematically place ads on your website that are relevant to the search history of the person who is currently visiting your website. Each time one of those ads is clicked on, regardless if a purchase is made or not, you will receive a small percentage of revenue just for being the source that facilitated that lead.

Sales Lead:

A sales lead is essentially what the name implies. This is when you facilitate potential for an increase in sales of a particular product. The first step in utilizing this technique to your financial benefit is to target what audience you are going to be reaching out to. After that, it’s just a matter of deciding on a method of sales promotion. Whether it be through social media, a blog, or even email marketing, leveraging social media is one of the more popular and effective methods of making money online to date.

Affiliate marketing:

Affiliate marketing is the big dog when it comes to making a decent living online, from the comfort of your own home. This is an income stream that can be easily integrated into your website or blog if you decided to start there.

There are thousands of affiliate marketing opportunities to be found online. One of the biggest and most successful programs is Amazon’s affiliate marketing program. With this particular program, you can pick and choose particular products straight from Amazon’s website and advertise or endorse them on your own website or social media platform. Whether it is a photo with a link attached to it, or a word/phrase in a blog that has a hyperlink, many bloggers have found profound success in using programs such as Amazon’s to make money online from home. They tend to endorse products they use or recommend to their audience. From there they are either paid for every click on the Ad on their website, or they are paid for generating leads. There are thousands of websites who have affiliate marketing programs, it’s just a matter of discovering them within your niche.

Making money online from home can be a headache, but it doesn’t have to be. There will be a big learning curve for most at first, but ironically, there are websites that exist to teach you how to become successful at making money online from the comfort of your own couch. These websites may even be making money from teaching you how to do this. Don’t let that discourage you, let that drive you to join them in their ranks of making a solid income from the comfort of your own home.
